At Semco Maritime, you will join our Renewables division that has created one of the world’s largest project portfolios for offshore substations, with activities spanning across Europe, Asia and the USA. Working within our Site Operation Team, you will take part in delivering greenfield EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contracts for offshore substation projects, utilizing teamwork, professionalism, and dedication to achieve exceptional results.
As part of the Site Team managed by the Mechanical Site Engineer, you will oversee the construction of all mechanical systems, including ventilation, cooling, fire extinguishing, diesel fuel and cleaning systems. The substations are built in Aalborg or at Lindø on Fyn where you will lead a team of 4 to 10 blacksmiths and fitters through the entire construction phase.
Your tasks and responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring that the systems are built to the proper quality standards and in a manner that prioritizes safety. To achieve this, it is essential that you keep a comprehensive understanding of both your colleagues and the tools you work with.
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate the workforce group actively
- Ensure correct quality and standards, as well as compliance with deadlines
- Provide safety leadership across all contract activities, and act as the role model
- Request required materials, tools, scaffolding, etc. when needed
- Coordinate activities with other site teams
Your qualifications and skills
We are looking for a Mechanical Foreman who can keep the overview and ensure tasks are carried out safely. We imagine that you are very independent and thrive when things change rapidly – sometimes by the hour. You are passionate about what you do and eager to get things done in the right way. Moreover, a good sense of humor and collaborative nature are always appreciated at Semco Maritime.
To succeed in this position, we expect that you have:
- An educational background as a blacksmith or in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the offshore or marine industry is preferred
- Proficiency in English – both verbal and written
