Do you want to take your career to the next level in the dynamic energy industry Then look no further! Join us as a Technical Project Manager at Semco Maritime and play a key role in designing state-of-the-art electrical architectures for wind farm transmission systems.

Your position
As our new Technical Project Manager, you will join the highly specialised and motivated Engineering Studies and HVDC team in the Renewables business area. With our vast in-house knowledge and experience, we help our clients in the project development stage by finding the most effective solutions for bringing energy to the shore. This is where you will be our new Technical Project Manager and future specialist for engineering studies projects.

We are world-leading within offshore high voltage transmission systems, and we have a strong focus on both AC and DC connections, as well as advanced floating technologies. Our Offshore Wind markets include Europe, Asia, and the USA, which means that you can expect to be involved in projects worldwide!” - Head of Studies and HVDC, John Olsen.

Your tasks & responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the way in designing the most optimal electrical architecture based on topics such as cost of construction (CAPEX) vs. cost of operation (OPEX) optimization, availability, and redundancy – as well as guiding our clients in making the best decisions. Furthermore, you will be leading comparison studies, FEEDs etc.

The studies typically cover the entire transmission system i.e., export and array cables layout plus onshore and offshore substations design and structure.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading concept, feasibility, and due diligence – the focus technologies are AC transmission, DC transmission, floating substations and offshore Power-2-X
  • Leading Pre-FEED and FEED studies i.e., control cost, schedule, scope, quality and client engagement
  • Overall participation in design and calculation responsibilities
  • Supporting the sales and business development team with your expertise during client meetings
  • Executing development tasks in general (improve power studies, concept studies, etc.)
  • Engaging with stakeholders internally and externally

Your profile & qualifications
As a person, you are outgoing, trustworthy and able to exert influence when needed. With your great attention to detail and curious nature, you take a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and are eager to develop your existing knowledge and skills. You think logically, are willing to self-learn and can work in small teams. Moreover, a good sense of humor and a collaborative nature is always appreciated at Semco Maritime.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • A relevant technical education such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar with experience, preferrable in high voltage electrical power systems or energy systems
  • Excellent IT and programming skills
  • Experience from the utility sector or offshore wind industries is an advantage, but not an ultimate requirement
  • Experience with offshore wind power transmission concepts and feasibility studies is a clear advantage, but not a requirement
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English, verbal and written
